Islandia, NY — Pal-O-Mine Equestrian, a not-for-profit organization providing a comprehensive therapeutic equine program using horses to facilitate growth, learning and healing for children and adults with disabilities, veterans and others, announced that it received a $10,000 donation from the Marilyn Lichtman Foundation. The grant supported VetFest 2025, which was held on the nonprofit’s 13-acre farm on October 19th. It will also help fund Pal-O-Mine’s many programs for veterans and their families throughout the year.
The foundation is the legacy of Marilyn Lichtman, who was committed to creating positive change by supporting veterans, animal assistance and wildlife conservation programs, medical and community service providers, and others that enhance our lives and the lives of future generations.
“We are proud to serve veterans, service members and their families, and we are profoundly grateful to the Marilyn Lichtman Foundation for supporting our work to bring healing and hope to this community,” said Lisa A. Gatti, Founder and CEO of Pal-O-Mine, now celebrating its 30th year.
At VetFest, Pal-O-Mine hosted 40 veterans’ resources groups, covering issues such as housing, employment, education, equine therapy and much more. The event was free to veterans, service members and their families. To learn more about all of Pal-O-Mine’s programs for veterans and others, visit Pal-O-Mine.org.
