The Elks have a motto: “So long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them.” According to Lauretta Majuk, Director of Grants for the Smithtown Elks, this pledge serves as the guiding principle that drives an extensive network of volunteers and resources, ensuring that veterans receive aid and comfort throughout their lives.
“The Elks organization is deeply committed to serving veterans through charitable giving to outstanding community partners who can assist military families,” said Majuk. “In keeping with a long-standing tradition, the Smithtown Elks are proud to partner with Pal-O-Mine Equestrian by funding exceptional programs for the heroes who make lifelong sacrifices to defend our Constitution.”
The Smithtown Elks are long-time supporters of Pal-O-Mine, which provides a variety of veterans’ programs led by professionals trained in military and first responder culture. “Through action-based, judgment-free sessions, participants build trust, connection and emotional resilience with the help of intuitive equine partners, supporting healing where words often fall short,” said Lisa A. Gatti, Founder and CEO of Pal-O-Mine, now in its 30th year. “We are so grateful to the Smithtown Elks for their generosity and commitment to those who have served our country.”
