June 15, 2026 Pal-O-Mine Equestrian is pleased to announce a $5,000 grant from its newest partner, BVL (Bowlers to Veterans Link). The donation will help Pal-O-Mine continue to provide free equine-assisted therapeutic programs and special events for veterans at the organization’s 13-acre farm in Islandia, NY.

The funding will support two of Pal-O-Mine’s veteran initiatives: Roping for Service, a unique program where veterans learn horseback riding and roping skills while building confidence, camaraderie and connection; and VetFest, Pal-O-Mine’s annual free event that welcomes veterans and their families to the farm for a day of recreation, education and community engagement.

VetFest brings together approximately 40 veteran-serving organizations, providing attendees with access to valuable resources and support services while enjoying family-friendly activities on Pal-O-Mine’s farm at 829 Old Nichols Road, Islandia. It will be held this year on October 11th from 10 am to 2 pm.

“We are deeply grateful to BVL for their support of our veteran programs, all of which we offer at no charge,” said Lisa Gatti, Founder and CEO of Pal-O-Mine. “Their generosity helps us continue offering meaningful experiences that foster connection, personal growth and a sense of community for the men and women who have served and are serving our country.”

Through its veteran programming, Pal-O-Mine utilizes the healing power of horses to help veterans build trust, strengthen relationships and improve overall well-being. The horse-human bond can be especially impactful for veterans facing challenges such as PTSD, anxiety and difficulties transitioning to civilian life.

Maple Family Centers, which operates bowling centers throughout Long Island and Florida, including locations in Rockville Centre, Coram and Flushing, created BVL after 9/11. BVL’s mission is to support America’s active-duty military and veterans through fundraising and community partnerships. Their investment in Pal-O-Mine reflects a shared commitment to honoring and supporting those who have served.

“We are proud that our bowlers have enthusiastically joined us in supporting Bowlers to Veterans Link, and together w are able to give generously to great organizations like Pal-O-Mine to help made a difference in the lives of our heroes,” said John LaSpina, President of Maple Family Centers.
