Islandia, NY — Pal-O-Mine Equestrian is grateful to the members of Iron Horse Rotary for their contribution toward the repairing, rebuilding and painting of the run-in sheds in each paddock that protect the nonprofit’s 25 specially trained therapy horses from the elements.
Iron Horse Rotary, a satellite club of the Rotary Club of Flushing founded in April 2026, brings together Rotarians who share a passion for community service and animals. Its founder, Judy Murtha, a horse owner and president of the Rotary Club of Flushing, has been a longtime supporter of Pal-O-Mine after seeing firsthand the impact of its equine-assisted therapeutic programs.
“When I toured Pal-O-Mine several years ago, I met a young girl named Eva who was paralyzed and happily riding a horse,” said Murtha. “That experience stayed with me. Iron Horse Rotary is proud to support Pal-O-Mine so more children like Eva can experience the healing power of these incredible horses.”

“Our horses are our treasured partners in healing who make everything we do possible,” said Lisa Gatti, Founder and CEO of Pal-O-Mine. “We are so thankful to Iron Horse Rotary for donating to improve our paddock shelters. Their generosity helps keep our horses safe and allows them to continue changing lives every day.”
Pal-O-Mine provides equine-assisted therapeutic, educational and vocational programs for more than 400 people each week, including children and adults with physical, cognitive and emotional challenges, veterans, first responders and many others on its 13-acre farm in Islandia, NY.
