Islandia, NY — Pal-O-Mine Equestrian is proud to welcome the Kiwanis Club of North Shore as a new community partner with their first-ever donation of $1,000 to support the nonprofit’s equine-assisted therapeutic programs that bring growth, learning and healing through the transformational power of the human-horse bond.

Pal-O-Mine, which celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, provides life-changing services to a wide range of populations from across Long Island, including children and adults with physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities, at-risk youth, people of all ages struggling with mental health challenges, veterans, first responders and many others at its 13-acre farm in Islandia. The nonprofit also runs a vocational program called J-STEP, for Job Security Through Equine Partnership, in which young adults with varying disabilities learn important skills such as teamwork, responsibility and entrepreneurship running their own patch of Pal-O-Mine’s two-acre garden.

“We chose to support Pal-O-Mine’s incredible therapeutic equine-assisted programs because their mission goes hand in hand with our core belief at Kiwanis: changing the world, one child and one community at a time,” said Chris Salmon, President of the Kiwanis Club of North Shore. “Watching special needs children gain confidence, strength and joy through their work with horses is truly inspiring, and we are honored to help them grow and heal.”

As demand for Pal-O-Mine’s programs continues to grow, community support from organizations like the Kiwanis Club of North Shore helps ensure that financial barriers never prevent individuals from accessing the nonprofit’s services.

“We are incredibly grateful to welcome the Kiwanis Club of North Shore to the Pal-O-Mine family,” said Pal-O-Mine Founder and CEO Lisa Gatti. “Their commitment to improving the lives of children and strengthening communities aligns perfectly with our mission, and their generous gift will help us continue providing transformative experiences that give more than 400 individuals each week the confidence, skills and hope they need to thrive with the help of their equine partners.”
