Islandia, NY — Pal-O-Mine Equestrian, which provides comprehensive therapeutic equine programs using horses to facilitate growth, learning and healing, is pleased to announce that the Laura B. Vogler Foundation of Sag Harbor, NY, awarded the nonprofit $4,000 to support its latest initiative, the 2Gether Program.

With 2Gether, individuals with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers experience relaxation, comfort and social bonding through interactions with each other and with Pal-O-Mine’s specially trained horses on the organization’s 13-acre Islandia farm.

“Spending time with horses and in nature engages all of your senses,” said Lisa A. Gatti, Founder and CEO of Pal-O-Mine. “When participants in our 2Gether Program brushed our horses and took in the sights, sounds and smells of our farm and our two-acre garden, you could see their faces light up with smiles and joy. The power of our herd to bring healing is truly transformative.”

Horticultural and music therapy activities are also part of 2Gether, magnifying the beneficial effects of these nature-based experiences.

“We are grateful to the Laura B. Vogler Foundation and all of the donors who make the 2Gether Program possible,” said Gatti. “With their support, we will serve many more individuals and families faced with the challenges brought on by Alzheimer’s disease for many years to come.”
