Islandia, NY — Pal-O-Mine Equestrian is excited to announce that it was one of the organizations chosen by the New York Islanders to participate in the team’s Hockey with a Heart initiative, a reflection of the Islanders commitment to helping make a difference in the community by working with and for causes close to the hearts of their fans.

The December 9th game at UBS Arena was a nail-biter from the moment the puck hit the ice, with the Islanders ultimately beating the Vegas Golden in an overtime shootout.Several dozen staff members, family and friends of Pal-O-Mine helped sell 50/50 raffle tickets at the game, a portion of which was donated by the Islanders to support Pal-O-Mine’s mission to provide a comprehensive therapeutic equine program using horses to facilitate growth, learning and healing for children and adults with disabilities, veterans and the military, first responders, survivors of trauma and abuse and many others.

“It was thrilling to meet Islanders fans and tell them about our mission, plus we were able to have our photo taken on the ice after the incredibly exciting win,” said Lisa A. Gatti, Founder and CEO of Pal-O-Mine, which is located on 13 acres in Islandia, NY, and is home to 25 specially trained horses, other farm animals, and a therapeutic horticulture program that serves as a vocational internship site for people with disabilities.“We are extremely grateful to the Islanders for selecting us as one of their Hockey with a Heart partners. Their support makes a direct impact on the people we are privileged to serve, and we’re proud to stand alongside a team that cares so deeply about making a difference —  both on and off the ice.”

In addition to benefiting from the night’s 50/50 raffle, Pal-O-Mine received $5 for every ticket that fans purchased through Pal-O-Mine’s special link. To learn more about Pal-O-Mine’s programs, visit www.pal-o-mine.org.
