Islandia, NY — A group of dedicated FourLeaf Federal Credit Union employees enjoyed a day of volunteerism as they spent a morning crafting windchimes made from horseshoes at Pal-O-Mine Equestrian’s 13-acre farm earlier in the month. The beautiful handmade pieces are among the many unique gift items sold at Pal-O-Mine’s main office in Islandia, with all proceeds going to support the nonprofit’s mission to provide comprehensive equine assisted therapeutic programs to facilitate growth, learning and healing for children and adults with disabilities, veterans, first responders, cancer survivors, individuals struggling with mental health challenges and many others.
“I love volunteering at Pal-O-Mine because I get to play a part in their meaningful impact,” said Caitlin Pannacchione, Executive Administrator Board Relations at FourLeaf. “Creating horseshoes for the gift shop is a small way to support the incredible work they do for the community. Pal-O-Mine provides growth, healing and independence to so many. I’m especially grateful to FourLeaf for encouraging us to give back through opportunities like this.”
“Many FourLeaf employees have dedicated time to volunteering on the farm over the past several years as part of our Corporate Volunteer Engagement Program,” said Lisa A. Gatti, Founder and CEO of Pal-O-Mine, which celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. “We are always grateful for their dedication and warmth, which turned a very chilly day into a celebration of team spirit, joy and giving.”
