Islandia, NY- Pal-O-Mine Equestrian is pleased to announce that the William E. Dean III Charitable Foundation has awarded the organization a $7,000 grant to support its equine-assisted psychotherapy programs for veterans and their families.
“Horses and humans have an amazing bond that goes beyond words and fosters healing and transformation for those who are experiencing trauma,” said Lisa A. Gatti, Founder and CEO of Pal-O-Mine, which provides comprehensive equine assisted therapeutic programs for children and adults with disabilities, veterans and many others on its 13-acre farm in Islandia, NY. “We are grateful to the William Dean Foundation for their dedication to this important mission.”
“Working with horses has helped me to handle difficult situations,” said one veteran who takes part in Pal-O-Mine’s programs. “By being outdoors on the farm, I’ve learned to take time to breathe deep, think and control my anxiety and emotions better.”
Pal-O-Mine’s programs for veterans and first responders are offered at no cost, made possible through the support of generous donors like the William E. Dean III Charitable Foundation, which is administered by Bank of America.
